The colors range from deep amber, red tomato, mid-toned sand colors and the deep teal of African waters to a "palette [that] is very dusty," Jordan says — colors like a patina-colored green that is often used architecturally on shutters and doors... and another we called Caribbean Coral -- a very, very dusty coral." "those colors from our past" that, like possessions themselves, may have faded in grandeur over time, but still resonate with us and reflect an appreciation of what we own.
In uncertain times, we find comfort in
the memories and traditions that provide us with a sense of
solid ground, says Jackie Jordan, Director of Color
Marketing for Sherwin-Williams. "Color plays a key role in

the past." The 24 shades selected by Sherwin-Williams color
experts for Colormix 2010 are grouped into four palettes:
Rooted, Treasured, Simplified and Refreshed.
